FACING OUR FEARS

24.10.2023

i am scared.

I am scared all the time. Of little things and big ones. Forgetting to lock the office door, for example, or ending up all alone in the world. Saying the wrong thing and people not liking me anymore, but also not saying anything at all and not being noticed. You get the gist, it goes on and on and on.

Ever since I’ve been self-employed, those fears have skyrocketed. Question after question circling in my head. Am I going to be able to pay my bills next month? And what if I actually suck at what I am doing and nobody will ever book me again and then not only do people know I suck but they will also watch me fail miserably. On and on it goes.

It’s been a lot lately. I felt ashamed. Alone. Like a failure. All those fears, an insecure future, it was crippling me, exhausting me, to the point where I didn’t want to go outside anymore. But then I started to open up to friends and colleagues, people I admire and love. And they all said the same thing:

“I’ve been there, too”.

Every. Single. One. The bravest, most impressive people in my life understood exactly what I was going through.

All of a sudden, I didn’t feel alone anymore. And realized once more: At the core, we’re all more similar than we think. We want to be heard and loved and belong. And of course, we’re all scared of something. But instead of letting the fear isolate us, we should be vocal about it. Take the edge off. And we’ll find more connection in the process.

let’s face our

fears together.

That’s why the first ever edition of “the creative break” will be focused on facing our fears. Whether you’re met with the insecurities of self-employment, leadership or your work life in general, you’re welcome to join us. We’ll explore our fears through the tools of creativity and connect by talking about them in this group workshop.

You can expect an evening of writing, painting and sharing. Please note that this is not an art or writing class, nor is it a therapy session. Rather, we’re playing with creative methods to get below the surface of our work-related fears. To access a place of intuition and inner knowledge. It’s going to be a time to reflect and connect.

PLEASE NOTE: you do NOT have to “know” how to paint or write, nor do you have to have “talent”. We are all innately creative, most of us just have lost touch with that part of ourselves. This workshop is an invitation to explore your creative side again.
