expect
One evening, a small group of leaders - with or without the explicit title to it - exploring a topic through the support of creativity.
A creative break workshop includes:
writing - yes, with pen and paper
abstract painting with media like acrylic paint and oil pastels (all materials are included)
self-reflection
a supportive group to share with and learn from
and facilitation through writing prompts and group discussions
No prior knowledge or “talent” for writing or painting is required at all. Come as you are and be open to the process that will unfold.
why work with your creativity?
As children, we just create. We don’t think about the outcome as much as the process itself, don’t judge our pieces of work. We’re just happy getting as much paint as possible on the paper, the table, the walls, whatever. We build sandcastles and let our imagination go wild. And then we grow up. We learn that there are rules to creating and judgement awaiting us at the end of the process. We start handing out labels: “talented”, “not talented”, “creative” or “not creative”. And we lose our connection to what innately is a process of self-expression, a way of accessing our intuition and deeper knowledge. It’s time to mend that interrupted connection and create - without any expectation, to enjoy the process and learn from the wisdom of our own creations.
